Poor design on bike

This tool broke on first use. The body appears to be of poor quality. I'm definitely disappointed as there were so many positive reviews and I thought I was buying a quality instrument.

Excellent product Best in Sports

Excellent product. I've been using it for a year and really enjoyed it. Easy to hold and control, looks great. The only issue I had was working on a very old bike (probably late 40's or early 50's) that had the original chain with very large links. These old link plates did not fit in the holder of this tool. I only mention this if you work with old bikes. Other than that, it's a fantastic tool.

  • Good thing
Cons

Heavy metal is good for cycling

Well built. There are no guides or slots to help or hinder you. I think they redesigned the tool without the guides shown in the picture. Better without her. I figured the purchase would make changing the chain less of a hassle than my old $4 tool. It's still a pain. It is likely that those who broke their instrument did not position themselves properly and tried to assert themselves. This is easy to do, especially when you're in a hurry or working in low light.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Hard to say

No more broken joints!

I've been using cheap chain breaking tools for thirty years and hate putting pressure on the chain pin only for the punch to bend or slip off the pin and I end up banging my knuckles on the chainstays or the rear cassette or a switch, causing molting and violent cursing. I decided to give this remedy a try and guys I'm happy, happy, happy! This thing is a Frankenstein tool and weighs about 12 ounces I think but once you include the chain link in the feeder shelf it's not going anywhere! Inโ€ฆ

Works as intended - Cycling

This bike chain removal tool is very durable. I've used it several times and haven't seen anything bent unlike a cheaply made tool. The design ensures the chain fits snugly to the pin extrusion end. The only downside to this design is (1) the pin doesn't come all the way out through the hole on the other side of the tool. You should be able to feel the friction of the pin on the other end as you turn the rod. Another bike chain tool design with fingers in the middle, you can see the pin loosenโ€ฆ
