Perfect for soldering small areas

Changed the rules of the game for me. For small Lake fridges, this is my best advice. Highly recommended for anyone involved in fine soldering.

Pros
  • Welders
Cons
  • Appearance

Facilitates the soldering of refrigerator compressor connections

I like it very much, it offers a relatively small and short flame, fast preheating and is also recommended by the refrigerator compressor manufacturer for soldering connections during compressor installation. The manufacturer specifies an oxygen pressure of 5 psi. inches and acetylene/fuel 5 psi. Inch for all Micro series tips (MTW-1, MTW-2, MTT, MTR).

Pros
  • Welding equipment and accessories
Cons
  • Modern

Very useful but smaller than I thought

As an HVAC specialist I usually use the #2 standard tip. I assumed these two would be #1 tips or something like that. It's more like double 0 (must) prompts. Very small, which, depending on the circumstances, can be both a minus and a plus. Although he says it is "flexible," it is flexible, just as all copper is flexible. He bends. Still a very useful addition to the old toolbox, I just wish it was a little bigger.

Pros
  • Fits a 71 or WH550 welding pin
Cons
  • Some bugs

I like the ability to heat the front and back

I like the ability to connect the front and back or the top and bottom to heat at the same time. It really helps me speed up the soldering process which reduces heat transfer to other components. The tips are easy to adjust, I have solder lines from 1/8" to 3/4" and just bend the tips to adjust the flame spread. I have many tips for my Oxy/Acetate. and installing B-Tank, so far this is my favorite.

Pros
  • The elbow is copper, the mixer and nut are brass
Cons
  • I doubt it

Best tool I've bought for the job

I repair refrigerators for a living and it's so easy to accidentally burn wires or puncture a hole in the refrigerator panel burn when you start and use Normal Burner Finish. The double flame allows for faster and easier replacement of evaporators and compressors by heating both sides of the copper tube with a smaller flame. I highly recommend this if you are working in tight spaces or even if you want soldered lines to look cleaner and better.

Pros
  • Proudly made in the USA and 100% fire tested
Cons
  • Very expensive
