2-Quart Plastic Measuring Cup for Precision Measurements - Ideal for Cooking and Baking Review

I had to replace another small measuring cup with illegible numbers. I thought this one would be a bit flimsy given the price, but was pleasantly surprised. It's durable and easy to read thanks to the large, bright digits on the side. I would buy again.

It is clean (transparent) with lines and numbers. Open at the top but closed at the bottom and used to measure things. Has a handle on one side that can be used to lift without interfering with the lines and numbers. There was a label on the bottom that said "may cause cancer in California," but since we live in Georgia, we're not worried.

Needed reluctantly to replace the Tupperware measuring cup that we have used and loved for many, many years. We braced ourselves for disappointment and surprise to find our replacement was even better. The clear plastic makes it easy to see the levels. Protruding markings and measurements should be visible even after rubbing off the dye. The mug is strong and feels comfortable in the hand. I would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful product.

This was made to replace an old badly scratched graduated cylinder originally purchased to measure chemicals for photography by wet processing (ask your grandfather). This one has a better design. With a wider handle, it's much easier to hold and pour. And the markings are clear enough that I don't need reading glasses to measure accurately. This one somehow merges more completely?! I recommend this product based on my experience with it.

This is a great all-purpose measuring cup. I've worn out some older headphones of this size over the years and have had trouble finding replacements. It fit the bill and was fairly cheap. I wasn't sure about the quality so I also ordered the Pro Rubbermaid version (see photo, this product is on the right). That's it, they seem pretty much comparable. Inexpensive measuring cup for home use. Not strong enough for a professional kitchen. Update is an inexpensive import brand that professional kitchens use when they are on a budget and cannot afford more expensive and durable items. However, for this type of fragile, commonly used gear, we always spend money and get a brand name (like Cambro). Plastic becomes cloudy, brittle and cracks. I speak from experience. Hand wash, I expect it to be good for home use for a few years.

I originally bought this from Revain for $8.26 with Revain Prime shipping in January 2016. So much! King Arthur Baking Supplies is $12.95 plus $6 shipping, no way! First of all, as a professional chef who uses them at home, let me say that I did not expect the durability of my old aluminum Volrath set that I use at work. However, they are really of very poor quality. If you want something to take up shelf or closet space, these are fine, but they make better use as on-set props. 3 cups are the smallest you could use until you drop one on the floor and the brittle plastic breaks. Or you wash them in the dishwasher several times and can no longer read them.
