I have been using electric cooling fans for 20 years and I usually use mounting kits that you can find in auto parts stores. The problem is that they cost around $10 for a set. I decided to try this mounting kit. Just a few hours after installing the fan and heatsink, I noticed that they were beginning to loosen. Will be replaced today when the auto parts store opens. I am extremely disappointed. I just hope the fan doesn't fall off the heatsink.

To be honest they work, but they don't stick very well and can easily slip off if you exert yourself. This kit works and my fan is held securely by four of these straps, I just don't like how easily they can slip off the hooks. They should be much tighter for more security. The Derale brand is far superior to this one. If I end up having to replace them I'll go with the Derale next time, but it looks like they're holding up and doing the job well. The time will show. Buy with caution.

I should have listened to other reviews. They're pretty easy to install (instructions or a simple diagram would be nice). However, they are not very strong. The nuts come out easily. I used them to attach fans to a motorcycle radiator. Didn't make it to the end of the driveway until one broke. I've used super glue on it and I'm hoping it helps, but I'm not holding my breath. The advertising is also misleading. It clearly says "8-9" rods" but there are only 4 in the pack. Would only recommend…
