URO Parts 1C0 945 511A Brake Light Switch: Reliable and Efficient Performance Review

This part has a lifespan of 6 to 12 months but we have not found a better fit for our Audi TT Quattro. The good news is that installation is pretty easy once you figure out how to put it in.

This is the switch you need if you have a 2001 New Beetle (TDI in my case). I got pulled over by the police because my brake lights weren't working and that and a few minutes on YouTube solved the problem. Not to mention that I had problems with the braking resistor. Everything worked out and I saved money.

This was the best model breaker that can be installed in 5 minutes, don't worry about breaking the case like the switch who was in the car. This switch has been known to fail and VW has 5 generations behind it. I believe this switch and version A were the first and the best. Not sure why they went from this one to all the others and then back to this one.

Edited 2004 Porsche Cayenne S. I had three problems: the cruise control would not engage, the ability to start the engine without pressing the brake pedal, and the ability to get from park mode into change the driving mode without pressing the brake pedal. This fixed all three. Please make sure you already have the switch before purchasing. I've read on several forums that the late 2004 model year Cayenne may not have derailleur gears. Can't comment on durability as I installed it a week ago.
