Day 1 Rusty cookware

Bought because I need a large water container. It looks just like the picture and has a volume of 3 liters versus the 2.5 liters of most others. The texture inside is rough (which is normal as this is a non-food kettle). However, due to the texture, the enamel coating inside did not stick. The bottom rusted on the 1st day of use.πŸ˜•

Nice but no longer

This kettle is cast iron and looks nice on our wood stove, but after the first day of use it started to rust on the inside. Now the inside and the entrance to the cauldron are rusty. As the water spurts out, it will leave rust on the outside of the kettle and on the hob. Also, the vapor generated is minimal. We live in a small cottage and using the kettle didn't affect the humidity. I would not recommend this product for anything other than decoration.

SHIT, made in CHINA and Ashley is not Vogelsang!

Garbage. Please note that image 1 differs from images 2, 3 and 4 in the description. Pic 1 is the junk you get, it's Ashley, not Vogelsang (although they are related in some way). While Vogelzang boasts of its US manufacturing facility on its website, this teapot is made in CHINA and clearly marked on the packaging. The build quality and finish is POOR, looks like a third grader smeared clay onto the surface and cured it and then spray painted the whole thing black. VERY disappointed and hardly

Season before first use!

Pre-season like a cast-iron skillet. Unlike cast iron pans, it is not pre-seasoned and will rust after a day/night. The seller says nothing about lightly oiling the pan and baking in the oven at 350 feet for an hour. It would be nice to know this information. So I'm giving it a 2 for lack of extremely valuable information. The quality of the product is undecided and I'll have to see how it holds up. It is extremely difficult to get rid of the first rust inside the pot so the lifespan of my…

As always with the iron, season first.

This pot did a great job with my wood burner. Steam heat/humidity contributes to the overall warmth of our home. Remember that you need to check the water level every few hours and also give it time to cool before adding more water to an empty pot to avoid cracking. The handle is expectedly cool to the touch, but be aware that it's cast iron and prone to rusting on the inside. Definitely not for hot drinks, but as mentioned for steaming. I suppose with the right spices etc this could have been…

Vogelzang TK-02 fireplace boiler, cast iron, 3 liters Vogelzang

For me it corresponds to the description and serves its purpose perfectly. -- Looks better than what we used to humidify the air. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that you have to be careful when pouring it into the sink as it will chip more easily, the ceramic sink is of course inherently *heavier than a cheap old pan, and make sure you add hot water if it is already hot or allow to cool before adding. Occasionally we'll catch it at a cooler time, the moment that hasn't…
