Excellent value for money

Some similar connectors are slightly more expensive but this item represents excellent value for money. Good quality product!

Found them larger

This would have been great 10 years ago when I was running telephone wires throughout the house. There aren't many wires to work on these days. I hoped they were designed for larger wires.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

90% cheaper than. Ame brand

Sealant pouch empty. Half connections. Think of the price. I can only speak for myself: "Who doesn't have a handset or two RTVs in their luggage? An important part works perfectly. Out of at least 112 connections from this brand, none passed the signal test.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Good coupler/plug. Sealant spotted or missing in many ports

My main complaint about sealant (dielectric grease) is patchy application. Some fittings are mostly dry while others have proper application. Fittings will NOT seal without the right amount of lubricant. I went through 25 random connections. Less than half had applied the correct amount of sealant. One half of the connector is slotted and the other side is a butt connector. This makes them more suitable as taps than as butt connectors. If you look at my photos you can see how the connectors…

Suitable for small wires

These connectors work much like Scotch Loks, you can feed a wire and insert another to connect them and you just press the green tab and they should stay in place. Sometimes yes, but unless you use a very thin and stiff wire it's difficult to get it far enough to make a connection. They work well for thinner solid wires like those used in Cat5/6/7 cables. There is some kind of gel inside the connector to keep the wire from oxidizing. I'm not sure what it's for, but after spending a few of them…

Pros

Cons

Disappointing

For those (like me) used to the brand name this is a poor copy. At this point I threw about 20% of it right out of the box simply because the two halves aren't even assembled yet. With the "other” brand, the through-wire snaps into place, making the crimping process nearly error-free. Not so with these things. You have to hold them right or, guess what, a faulty crimp and another lost connector and waste of time. Stick to the originals. Don't risk your company's reputation.
