My daughter wanted to drill holes in wine bottles for lights for her college apartment. We bought this to be able to make a hole in the side of the bottle big enough to let the little Christmas lights through. My husband drilled holes for it with a regular drill and he said it worked like a charm. No problem cutting wine bottles. The edges were a bit sharp, so he just sanded them down a bit. She has built in little lights and they look great!
It cut through my porcelain like butter. I used some plumbing to make a small pool of water where I wanted to make my hole in the ground and it stayed cool. Used this for three holes and the diamond still looks good enough for a few more cuts. I also used an 18v cordless drill in top gear and at top speed and it was powerful enough to cut. This was an amazingly reasonably priced product for my DIY needs compared to what I would pay in big stores! No cons for what I used it for!
This racquet is cheap. That means it worked for what I needed it for. If you need to poke a few holes in a bottle or similar and don't want to pay $12 for something that will last, this helps. The part of the bit where the cartridge is clamped is hollow and not very strong. I think mine was just a hair off center but like I said it did the job and I think it probably won't puncture more than half a dozen more holes before it becomes garbage.
