They are very thin and they work but you need to know how to use them. You need to keep them cool and moist. I use a spray gun and run the drill with one hand and constantly spray the drill/hole. do not push too hard and do not perform the exercise too quickly. Be patient. Especially with porcelain stoneware. I bought them to install handrails in a porcelain stoneware shower. Drilled 10 holes and used 6 bits. I used to buy a $20 bit that ran out after about 10-15 holes. such a cheaper optionβ¦

Starting the hole was a little risky but with the advice of another review I drilled a hole large enough for a drill length of the block of wood and held it to start the hole where I wanted. Walking got better. I can't comment on their lifespan due to the price and used a new drill bit for each hole to minimize risk, but I think it could have been done with more than one. Received 2 weeks before delivery date, in perfect condition. Went like clockwork. I drilled 10 holes in ceramic tile on a bathroom wall backed with 3/8" cement board to install the handrails. Drilled an overall 5/8" hole in about 10 minutes at a time. I used a 1/2" x 3" x 8" piece of wood with a 1/4" hole in the center to hold the drill bit in place, with another 1/8" hole on top to introduce the 1/8" plastic.
