Optimized Drill Return Spring Assembly by Uxcell Review

This was just what I needed to get my old Ryobi drill working again. Pre-rolled it should be fairly easy to install by simply threading it into the spring cap and then snapping the mounting wire into place. Just pay attention to how the old spring came out so you don't put it in the wrong way around. It's quite difficult to reinstall properly after installing it backwards (live and learn. I'll pay more attention to spring alignment next time!).

I need this part for a 41.5mm case. A part came with a diameter of 42.5 mm. This makes it practically useless as there is no easy/quick/safe way to reduce the OD to the desired size. Not to mention putting it in the suitcase later. For $7, there's no point in even trying. So it's basically useless. They need to do better quality control. Aside from the sizing issue, it looked well made, but a well made part that doesn't fit is less useful than a poorly made part that does.

I bought this spring to replace a broken one on my Delta 17-956 based on measurements only. This spring, Delta and other retailers are trading at $35, but they were out of stock. Spring came in five days. In the resulting form, the spring is tightly coiled and held in place by a wire around the perimeter.
