This is not OEM and you will need to cut a notch for the driver's side hood latch lever, which is not difficult. Even now the grille opens about 1/4 inch on that side when I close the hood, but it doesn't come off like my old one that broke. Whether it's that cheap or OEM, I'm glad to have black grilles. These replacement kidneys were for the e46 sedan (323i). They fit very well. They have a different attachment mechanism than the other types I've used in the past: they have "stands" with a small groove that you gently slide against the hood's mounting tabs.
