8-point screwdriver

If you have an octa-point screw, the cat will meow because a torx screwdriver will not fit. For some reason the cargo trailer has its own screw and you won't find any of those double square bits at your local hardware store. A bit pricey but maybe I could sell someone one and get some money back!

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

good tool when you need it

uses this on my cargo trailer I work on. remove screw. You'll end up using a vise or something. Luckily, most of them aren't immune to overtightening, so you'll be fine for the most part. Couldn't find her anywhere else but at Revain's.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Excellent but rusts easily

Excellent double square trailer screwdrivers. Well made and good quality. However, they rust quickly in the (usually) slow rusting environment of the Utah Alpine Desert. That's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. I have never had rust on other drivers, even after years of use. I'll smear them with oil to stop this.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Cleanliness

for truck trailer 8 point bolts

I bought a truck trailer and built a trailer with 2 different bolt heads. This bit has an 8-point or is called a double square bit. It worked well. You will need this piece when removing plywood from walls. At least I did. You can use a square bit if it's the right size for a square of the screw.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Have doubts

2x better than square #2

It worked as intended. It was interesting to discover that the screws on my included haulmark tag were not torx screws. I've heard you can also use a #2 square cutter but apparently it has twice the bearing surface so it's only half as likely to break. I will probably never use this bit again as it took me 45 years to first find these screws but when you need them there really is no alternative.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Vega dbl square. 2 " Bits

I had to remove some fairings from a 20ft Roadmaster trailer that was using these dbl bits. Square. There were three in the kit and I broke all three on two screws. One by hand. One straight drill motor with clutch and one with impact wrench. They fit perfectly on the screws, but any amount of real torque to loosen the screw destroyed the tip. I ended up sanding the heads and drilling the holes. So why 4 stars? I suppose they might work well for a new project if you want to use these screws as…

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Some bugs

Strange trailer bolts? FINALLY, here's your beat!

*** As always, I purchased this product with my own money and paid the asking price plus tax. Also, I have nothing to do with anyone who might make a dime for doing it. I also have no relationship with anyone associated in any way with a competing product. *** They fit a lot of closed trailers with those crazy torx-like 8 point screws. Has anyone else discovered that there appears to be a worldwide conspiracy against the sharing of information about these screws and the right bit needed to work

Pros
  • Best in Niche
