It's sturdy and somewhat adjustable

I bought this little mount to mount an external audio recorder and video light on the same stand. It's durable and somewhat customizable. I ended up worrying about the cold shoe, but it's not all metal so I'm not worried about shorting out the flashes if I ever decide to use one on it. The rubber allows you to press onto anything and hold it securely, yet light enough to let go afterwards. It is approximately as described.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Minor issues

SUITABLE FOR VIDEO PURPOSES

This is a must have for installing an external microphone (another must have) on your camcorder. Most consumer camcorders do not have a hot shoe and require an external microphone. The image shows the camera mounted on the left (device mounted on a tripod) but it can easily be switched and mounted on the right (to use the grip) with the microphone on the left. There is a hole under each bracket for attaching a tripod. It is a very reliable device and the price is right. Enjoy!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No automatic

DIY Flash Mount best in Flash Accessories

This is my second CB-600. The first is used to mount my Strobies 360 flash on camera in mobile mode. The problem with this setup, however, was the dangling wireless receiver. The second CB-600 was only bought to find a screw to attach the wireless receiver to the first bracket. Although an improvement over the original rig, the pistol grip makes the rig more comfortable to use. Perhaps Vello can design/suggest a suitable mount. [Available L-mount brackets with vertical handles make mounting too

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

  • Not bad

The easy way to add a microphone to your camcorder

Your camcorder probably has a bad built-in microphone. Add an external microphone with this mount. You can mount this bracket along or across the longitudinal axis of the camcorder. I often mount it lengthways so that the mic is in line with the camcorder and faces my mouth when speaking. I point the mic forward to conduct an interview or to record the audio ahead. Very helpful. Both the camera screw and cold shoe screw have 1/4-20 threads on the bottom for more mounting flexibility. For…

Does exactly what I need

I use this with a magic hand (11 inches) so a modification was needed. To keep the flash and arm from rotating when the camera orientation changes I had to use my own screw so it could be tightened with pliers. I also had to cut the rubber spacer so I could get metal to metal - once I had the rubber in place the arm turned metal to metal using pliers to create a torque worked Now the magic hand permanently attached to the bracket is necessary. Normally this setting is intended for macro…
