🔒 Enhanced Velox Rim Tape for Better Quality and Protection (2-Pack) Review

If you're a frequent cyclist and/or long-distance cyclist like me, you'll be off-road and changing tubes when you least expect it. However, many people are unaware that there is rim tape in their rims and/or over time it can wear out and need to be replaced. This is a great tape, will protect your hoses and last a long time. Definitely recommend.

Really easy to apply to my 20 year old rim. After a series of inexplicable mishaps, it turned out that the very thin fiberglass rim tape that originally came with my rims had been destroyed because it allowed the edge of the hole where the spoke nipple was intended to be cut into the inner tube. Problem solved. The tape looks thick and strong so I reckon it will last another 20 years.

I measured my rim and it came out slightly narrower than the width of the tape I ordered. Unfortunately, a groove down the middle of the rim meant the tape barely covered all of the spoke holes. I think it would work really well if I had a slightly wider band. I took a star for the measuring instructions but otherwise good quality material that prevents flat surfaces from going into sharp spoke holes if sized correctly.

This material is thick and stays in place. I like the level of protection that Velox offers. I consider it a heavy duty application and depending on the quality of rim you are using you may not need such protective protection. Most recently I used this tape on a set of 29" Alex discs that came stock on a 2008 Rockhopper. These are budget rims and the finish isn't very good, leading to a lot of pinching. Bought when my tire went flat (I had moved the original Velox rim tape to the side and the tube was touching the spoke holes and I went off). I put this rim tape on and couldn't put a new tire on no matter how I did it. I've had motorcycle tires that were easier to fit than these. the last piece of tire over the rim. Why didn't the ball go down? Because that 16mm tape was too wide. The tape should go into the small groove and cover the holes for the spokes, done! He must not go out on the walls

This is a reliable 5 star product which I have purchased and used many times over the years on various bikes and bicycles. I really don't like the type of rubber band. Rim tapes as they move very easily and offer no protection. And I don't like plastic rim strips that are made to a given diameter - they fit well on some rims and badly on others.
