waste of money. in automotive and automotive electronics

used 3 times. The battery life is quite short. Maybe 2 or 3 hours of continuous use. Gets confused by weeds, registering wildly different depths when walked over. Took it out for the fourth run and the screen stopped working. If the water somehow got in (don't know how) the design is quite imperfect for something perfectly suited for small ship use.

Attachment to line

I only had one time to use it. Wanted a rechargeable one so I don't have to worry about running out of battery when I'm away. Before buying I studied search engines and said that I made the right choice. Ventior is one of the best customer service companies I have seen in my 77 years. I built on my swivel which is now more difficult to knot. I would recommend this fish finder to people as I have had a few good days fishing already. I'm really happy with it. I have a pole up to 12 feet long. Use

Outstanding company and division!

My sonar showed an unusually high water level of over 100 feet just a few meters away. Ventior contacted me and we found out that the problem was related to an interfering Garmin outboard device. After trying it from the bank, very accurate. I can't say enough about a company that truly stands behind their products. I also have an old model with an antenna which is a great fish finder but this new model comes without an antenna and I love it. I have tried and returned many fish finders in the…

poor quality good for marine electronics

I ordered this last year (2020) to take my kayak fishing. Well finally I used it for the first time this month (September 2021). I opened the box and took out the screen and the glass covering the screen fell out. I put it back as it includes tape/glue to keep it in place. Take it in the water for the first time and it's obvious that a few drops of water will get moisture behind the glass and fog it up. Also, the part of the sonar that you lowered into the water got into the water where it…

Great product but keep dry

Bought one of these and love it! Keep it dry: Water on the screen acts like condensation in the screen behind each drop, blocking the depth view. Also, it fails completely and permanently in light rain, which was my fault. I received a replacement unit and it works great in a plastic case. Determines the depth precisely. I use it in my kayak to find cliffs. A large mouth striped bass was recently caught with this device at depths of 22 to 30 feet. photos provided. Works better than devices that

FISH FINDER 2 REVIEW.UPDATED ONLY 7/10/2020

REVIEW UPDATE 7/10/2020. Tried it on the water and it works BUT that's why I lowered it to 4 stars out of 5. Despite charging the battery on both the viewfinder and receiver, it dropped to half in 3 hours. Looking at the screen is NOT easy to see. I switched it to white and then to 70% of the screen to read the display and still couldn't do it without putting my hand over it to protect the sonar. Maybe I'll make a shield for him or I'll look for alternate cover. It clearly showed fish and…

Good product for price and application

I am a float fisherman and in the past I had an old style fish finder bud that attaches to tube and was a good size rod etc and I noticed this new technology and decided to try it. That works fine. I tied the sonar part to a strong mono and held it out of the water (so it wouldn't turn on automatically in the water) until I needed to see the depth and see if there were any fish around, then just dropped it. in this short 2ft strong mono. But it's not so little that I'm not happy, I just wish he

Great addition to my fishing gear

Today I used the sonar for the first time. It worked incredibly well. I used it while fishing from a kayak on a freshwater lake here in Florida. I attached the transducer with a carabiner to about 15 feet of 50 pound monofilament test line. I tied him to a duck in a kayak and he follows me. With a slow oar, just right for fishing, the device worked flawlessly. In fact, I had to row pretty fast to break the signal. I had to change the background to white to be able to see the screen in bright…

Pros
  • Note: 1. Hold for 3 seconds to turn on the display. 2. The sensor will turn on automatically when it enters the water. 3. When the sensor is off, the battery indicator on the display will not work properly. The red indicator on the sensor will turn off when fully charged. If you want to check the sensor's battery status on the display, put the sensor in water. It turns on when floating on water. After that, the battery indicator of the sensor is shown correctly on the display.
