Change cable at home.

Suitable for cyclists who want to work on their bike at home. I was able to easily replace the brake cables on my old Trek. Although the cutter can crush the cable sleeve a bit when cutting, there is a special accessory on the side of the cutter that allows you to reopen the sleeve to a nice round hole. Seems like it should last for years. It was definitely worth the price and worked as it should.

Great product at a reasonable price

I decided to replace my first brake and shift cable and needed a set of wire cutters. I didn't want to spend too much on a Park tool cutter, but I wanted a cutter that also has a crimping tool and awl attached. This cutter is very durable and I made good use of all the extra features. The awl helped a lot in reopening the cable's sheath/sleeve on both the shifter and brake cables. Get this cutter, you won't regret it.

Random uneven cuts on cables

Mainly used for cutting bicycle cables. Although the buttons are tight (as suggested by several other reviewers), the cutters sometimes don't cut cleanly. It is important that the ends of the bike cables are cut very cleanly so that they slide easily over the body. 1 in 5 cuts will cause the strands to break easily. It now cuts cable, but not as cleanly as other more expensive cable cutters. I'll end up just using it for cutting my torso. This should match the case cutter and it will save my…

Makes a clean cut - Bike Tools & Maintenance

I used this to install brake and shifter cables on a bike, 4 cuts total. So far he has made clean cuts. I don't have Popeye forearms, but I can still cut with no effort. The crimping portion of the tool will pinch and potentially shear the end cap if you squeeze too hard. It took a bit of experimenting with the extra wire to get the desired result. I have not used it to cut or crimp the cable jacket as I used an old jacket on my bike. If you are looking for a bike wire cutter/crimper at a lower

6/23/20 - UPDATE Garbage.

(UPDATE: After watching a few videos on attaching wire cutters, I found the problem of not getting a straight cut. Turns out there was play, and when you loosen the screw tighten a little to clear that up This thing started cutting through the oil like a hot knife It's now gone from a disappointing 1 star to a 5 although it should have been checked by QC before it left the factory. ) It's been disappointing since I first used it. The first cut didn't go all the way, there were bent strands of…
