Chinese scrap good for router parts and accessories

The bearing on this handpiece came loose within minutes and the second bearing did the same. I worked on gravel and never found her. I called Vermont American this morning and they don't have any parts. Surprisingly they couldn't even give me the specs of the screw that holds the bearing to the bit! They just bring this junk from China and sell it. I will never buy a Vermont American again.

  • Tools and household items

Works perfectly! Best in Power and Hand Tools

I bought this because I wanted the bass I'm building to be about 3/4" but the shank size of my router is only 1/4" so is this the closest size i could find. The price was great compared to other brands and it works really well. Very gentle first pass curve in a mix of softwoods and hardwoods glued together and still in great shape. The ball bearing made everything easier, I just had to push it against the edge of a tree and it drove itself.

Pros
  • Router Bits
Cons
  • High Price

Great DIY option: router parts and accessories

This is a very durable router. You've seen comparisons online and you've probably wondered how it can be so much cheaper than others. Don't be fooled by naysayers who try to portray non-premium brands like this as inferior. This Vermont American cutter is not a low quality product. I used it for an outdoor project (deck railing rounding) and it worked like a charm. Of course, the wood I milled is soft, so I can't speak to its performance with, say, Brazilian cherry. But I was very happy with…

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • Non-Automatic
