A probiotic that works.

I fed my cats Purina Fortiflora until I started reading the ingredients. Found online with great reviews so randomly (also $5/$6 cheaper) / My cats love it and I haven't seen any stomach upsets from this product. It does its job of calming the stomach just like the previous product. . The only drawback: the powder has a very light consistency and "flies" easily when opening the package. However, I train myself to do better. I will definitely keep ordering it.

Pros
  • This is amazing

Not a substitute for FortiFlora

I have 11 cats and like to give FortiFlora to several cats. I bought it because of the good reviews as a cheaper alternative. The first thing that struck me is that it is an off-white powder and there is more of it in the pack than in FortiFlora. Also, I couldn't identify the smell while FortiFlora has a meat smell. I fixed this for 4 of my cats with their nightly tablespoon of soft food. Three of them quickly vomited it up along with soft food - several times - and I spent the evening cleaning

It works!: Cats

My cat has a mysterious infection or virus that has confused the vet. They ran tons of tests on her but couldn't find anything wrong. The vet gave her an injection of antibiotics and it helped, but she still wasn't very hungry. I started giving her this probiotic every day and she immediately started to improve. She quickly returned to her original state. All you have to do is mix it with some wet food. My cat doesn't eat much at once so I had to pour some water in the bowl so she turned it…

Huge variety of seemingly same products from batch to batch

When I first bought this VetOne Advita product for my cat earlier this year it was a pack of 30 sachets (via Revain but from a other seller). The powder was virtually odorless and really helped my cat with soft poop (a side effect of his prescription diet). Encouraged in this way, I purchased a two pack version of the same item (the item I am reviewing) again through Revain from this seller, Fritter Critters. However, as soon as I opened the new bags, I noticed a strong odor of synthetic…

Advita vs. Fortiflora

I was thrilled to finally find a probiotic that my cat with inflammatory bowel disease could actually tolerate. This one is made from dried bird liver, unlike Purina Fortiflora, which is made from Animal Digest (whatever that is). My cat really liked the taste of the Purina brand but kept throwing up. My cat has never thrown up on Advita and loves the taste. She actually eats prescription z/d kibble better when I sprinkle Advita on it. Since taking Advita her stool consistency has improved. If…

A great way to perk up a cat's tummy again

I bought this for a semi-feral stray dog that we have been taking care of for the past few weeks. He's in bad shape with ticks, fleas, worms, scabies and I figured if he had diarrhea it wouldn't hurt anything we've done for him. I just started giving him this because I put a crushed wormer pill in his food and wanted his stomach to be in better shape for the wormer. He ate it straight away, too soon to see results but I'm sure it's very helpful for this poor cat whose tummy is swollen from…

Powerful Probiotic

While my cats love the taste of this as much as Purina Fortiflora Feline Cat Supplement 30g and I'm happy to pay less, I don't like the texture of this probiotic powder. It's so beautiful, there's always something that blows up. It is also difficult to spread evenly and often falls out in clumps. Do I think the health benefits are worth buying Vet One Advita? Yes I think it works and it seems to work very well, as does Purina, maybe better. I add a packet of Advit powder to my cat food every…

Although we dislike corticosteroid use

We have a kitten who has survived a brain tumor since the summer of 2016. The cancer took its toll on him, and even before the operation he began to develop stress-related intestinal inflammation. After his recovery, IBS really reared its ugly head. Realizing that this was likely to be a lifetime for Rocky, with waxing and waning phases, we desperately searched for a way to keep his bowels as even as possible. After several attempts with the help of our vet and a holistic approach, the ONLY…

Saved my kitty's belly. first

I was surprised to see that the powder was white - but I don't care what color it is as long as it works - it works! I've used FortiFlora (which I've had good luck with on other pets in the past) but it didn't work for this particular kitty. He has a sensitive stomach, as evidenced by the litter box and the aisle that leads to the litter box when he hasn't been around. Changing the food wasn't enough, but it helped for a few days. Unfortunately --- I bought additional boxes from other sellers…
