Image quality so-so. Text unreadable

It may have been because I picked up flat cable noise at my particular mileage, but I was never able to get that particular adapter set for a long time to get a good picture.

Perfect as advertised

Worked great. Minor issue with slight audio noise when using Mini-DVI-VGA adapter on MS Surface. Everything worked fine on an old laptop with a VGA connector and a separate audio output. I don't know why anyone would confuse this with a Video over IP adapter.

Great low cost solution

I used this for a production where we needed to run video about 200ft over an old network. The devices are reliable and mostly simply "plug and play". I did notice a drop in quality when the cables were coiled tightly, but that didn't extend to when I routed the cables during installation. Image quality was good (1024 x 728) at 200 feet over CAT 6 cable.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Cable shorter than others

Good product for the price, not so much. Quality Control

Adapters work but with the kit I received the entire display has a bluish cast. This is due to a couple of bad solder joints on a component in one of the blocks that would be apparent with a simple visual inspection. Aside from my faulty device, these adapters work great. There is no doubt about the clarity of the video on the security monitor over 160ft Cat5E.

Pros
  • High score for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are quirks

Works at a great price

Works at a great price. My husband uses this because we have an electronic egg and one in the house and our video monitor in another so we can squeeze out the best signal. We have used other brands in the past and they have broken or not worked very well. This is excellent quality. Easy to use. Comes with simple instructions. Great brightness, great price and definitely VEG signal gain for our expansion repeater adapter.

As long as the extensions work properly.

Purchased for use in my church for our overflow projector, I bought this to avoid a (over) 150ft VGA display cable. This little device works great. This allows me to connect a cheaper (and simpler) Cat6 cable to the remote display. I ran about 150 feet of cable to the remote site. The remote display shows no signs of image degradation. I don't see any hiss, ticking, interference or anything else that would indicate a signal problem. But I only have 1024x768. I don't know how it will work in…

This is a great product when you need to extend your VGA signal

This is a great product when you need to extend your VGA signal. I needed about 130 feet of extension. When I first plugged them in, they didn't work even though I checked and tested the network cable. I get no signal on the monitor. After careful troubleshooting, I've found that the devices connected must have a common electrical ground or must be provided. When I discovered this was the problem, it worked straight away. Maixin-tech was quick to provide me with a replacement to try and fix the

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Update: just died/easiest/cheapest way to extend VGA.

Update: While this extender has worked great in the past, it just died for me. I didn't even get a year of it, by 5 days. The image disappeared completely, and then suddenly returned. It was like a blink and when it turned off the monitor acted like I had no signal. I connected a very short cable to it, but the flicker was still there. I checked the monitor directly on the computer, no problems were found. I checked both VGA cables and found no problems either. The power source for the…
