I bought this to weld to my Oklahoma Joe Smoker. I wanted to add 2 more locations for temperature probes. These plugs are perfect. cheap and good quality!

Using a welder with over 40 years of experience, we welded about 10 of these fittings (1/2 and 3/4 NPT) to 2 chambers to be filled with air (in one) and hydraulic fluid (in another). After the first weld we tested the pressure and found many leaks at 40psi. We grind them and weld them again. Fewer leaks but still leaking. 3. Finally, grinding, welding and crimping confirm that they are airtight. The welder fees would have been astronomical if he hadn't bemoaned the poor quality of the product…
