Very beautiful and easy to use - so simple even a grandmother could handle it. The interface of the included wizard-based software is intuitive and user-friendly. You have the option to either encode the discarded video into a web-readable format or an interlaced file, which you can then create as a DVD or professionally deinterlace yourself if you wish. I just wish it had a firewire input. to capture my MiniDV tapes.

I used this with my Sony Digital 8 (DC-TRV350). It worked great! I hooked it up to a Dell laptop running Windows 10 64-bit and downloaded the video capture software directly from Elgato's website. I had no technical problems using the software or connecting my camcorder from the capture device to my laptop. I chose to connect using an S-Video cable with composite red and white (for stereo sound) connected to the composite part. The sound is excellent and the picture quality is also very good…

I bought this to convert 30 year old Super 8mm camcorder tapes to digital tapes on my MacBook Pro. Although the camcorder only has 2 RCA outputs (1 video and 1 audio), transferring audio and video is simple and straightforward, with excellent results.

Picture quality is good considering I imported 37 year old VHS tapes that were re-encoded in the worst quality mode. I was able to broadcast to iMovie on my iMac desktop and also create short video clips and email them to attendees. I originally bought a very cheap device. I threw it away so I wouldn't have to send it back.
