Like some other reviewers, I had trouble getting the USB-C port to work. The USB-C cable that came with my MacBook Pro worked at first, but then it stopped. I tried the iVANKY USB C 3.2 cable, which didn't work either. I contacted Viewsonic support. My representative was very responsive and helpful. In general the product is excellent. However, I was messing around with an old surge protector one day, and shortly after connecting my Dell Latitude 7420 via USB-C, I had a few issues getting it fully installed. I like that the Macbook charges via USB-C, which connects the display. my macbook air 2019 only has two built-in usb-c ports, so it's nice that both aren't always used between charging and the monitor.

I found this monitor through Wirecutter and bought it specifically for the USB-C connectivity. The monitor works fine with the HDMI dongle, but the USB-C connection to my MacBook Pro 2020 doesn't work. If you value a USB-C connection, look elsewhere.

The base is poorly constructed, causing the monitor to lean forward. There's no way to adjust the fore or aft tilt, so I figured the base wouldn't tilt forward. It makes sense that the base is flat, right? I had to use doorstops to keep the screen at a 90 degree angle. Not impressed.

I bought this monitor to replace one I gave to my wife (she had a size and fit issue which my old monitor handled well). Works fine, installs more or less. The image quality is quite satisfactory. It charges my Apple Mac Air via a USP-C cable, saving a port.

To be honest, ViewSonic exceeded my expectations. It was much more elegant than I expected. Although the picture could probably be better and it feels warmer than most monitors, it suits my needs perfectly. If you're not picky about monitors, this is a good choice.

I bought this monitor as it had a USB-C port for use with my 2021 MacBook Air. Colors are oversaturated and using it for text looks fuzzy. The REAL reason for this review is that the USB-C port on the back of the monitor failed in less than a week. Complete garbage. Cheap plastic joints are no good.

The monitor made an annoying high-pitched noise when USB-C was connected to a MacBook. I sent the monitor back. Picture quality is decent for a budget monitor, but text isn't particularly sharp.

I didn't realize that the video connection with this monitor wasn't what I wanted. So I wouldn't consider it a true computer monitor. The colors are horribly distorted and I can't fix them. That's the price you have to pay to buy a monitor with both VGA and HDMI ports. Basically it's a TV. This is not the manufacturer's fault, I just rushed. But it can be used, so I won't be returning it. But it's not as sharp and clear as advertised.

Purchased directly from Viewsonic. Night maps in video games are not rendered even at maximum brightness. Tried to contact support. I was told I should have done more research before purchasing. $300 down the drain. will never buy their products again. Stay away from ViewSonic.

It's not that the bezel is smaller, but for the price you can't beat it. Not bad image quality, but again this is a budget model. Realistic expectations will bring you happy results.

I am very happy that I bought this monitor. I use it with my Macbook Pro. The included cable plugs directly into my computer and charges my computer, eliminating the need for me to connect additional cables. The size is spot on and I am very happy with my purchase.

Hello, I just got this and installed it with a Macbook 12. I set it up correctly, but I may have missed something small. I immediately noticed that the quality of the text is not clear and sharp at all. If so, I feel like the good reviews of Wirecutter have misled me. It was a "budget choice" but I didn't think it meant a bad resolution! If I fix this I'll update the review, but be careful now!

Uses the original Apple USB-C Thunderbolt 3 cable to connect MacBook Air 2020 to the monitor. The laptop's display, audio, video and power supply work well. But after a while it suddenly stopped loading. Disconnecting and reconnecting the Thunderbolt 3 cable to the laptop is not sufficient. To recharge the laptop, the power supply to the monitor must be disconnected and reconnected!
