nice opener at Kitchen Utensils & Gadgets

This is an innovative opener that works well. except that one of the main parts (where the smaller handle attaches) is made out of a plastic composite. It can easily break and render the opener unusable. UPDATE: Even though the seller's warranty had expired, the manufacturer informed me that it was a batch of products and sent me a replacement with no problem. I expect this one to work well.

Poor quality, worked well until it broke

Knife worked very well until it broke. He quickly got to grips with wine corks and we go through quite a lot. However, a friend soon broke the bottom handle when he thought it was the ejection mechanism and pulled on it. The opener worked for several months without the bottom handle. . Once, when trying to simply remove the cork, the entire device jammed, and then broke inside.

How it works? on Bar & Wine Tools

Can't figure out how to use it. The instructions indicate that you should place the device over the cork and press the lever down. So far, so good. Part of the corkscrew easily penetrated the cork. Then lift the lever as instructed and the connector should be removed. That part didn't happen. Rather, the corkscrew gently unrolled from the cork, leaving the latter perforated but still pressed firmly against the neck of the bottle.

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Description is inaccurate

I have just received this item and am very concerned about its durability. The description says it's made of stainless steel and plastic. The only steel part is the rod that drives the corkscrew. Gears and gear parts are made of chrome-plated metal. Probably what is called "Pot Metal". The engagement of the gear and pinion is not very tight. The rest of the parts are made of plastic. In fact, this corkscrew is no different from many others that cost half the price. Eventually it will break…

I am so disappointed. My husband and I drink a glass regularly.

This item was purchased last November. The plastic parts broke last week. Now the corkscrew is useless. It's cheaper to buy a new one than to look for replacement parts. I am so disappointed. My husband and I regularly enjoy a glass of wine with dinner and are no strangers to lever-operated corkscrews; The one we had before was a few years old (can't remember the brand) so I had no hesitation in ordering a new one, assuming the quality would be the same. I hope my review will save others from…

Every friend who tries wants it.

After finding this recommended on another site I decided to replace my worn one and it wasn't as good as before. Rabbits. I immediately found it MUCH easier to use - much less hassle, much more natural alignment and much more stability of the bottle on the counter. I don't regret switching from a rabbit. In addition, the cork is knocked out just as easily. Others point out that longer plugs don't fully eject, which is true, but it's such a small "minus" that I can barely take half a star off my

I couldn't believe the poor work

I bought this brand for my sister in law last year and she loved it. So this year I bought one. I don't know if they lowered the quality of the product but this corkscrew didn't work at all. The handle feels very comfortable and the corkscrew easily penetrated the cork. However, when attempting to remove the cork, the corkscrew simply came loose and the cork remained fully in the bottle. I've tried several times with the same result. Then I tried it with a completely different bottle of wine…

Barely enough: bar and wine tools

This bottle opener doesn't pull corks out all the way; After lifting the lever, the cork base always stays in the bottle. At this point you need to grab the body of the opener and manually pull out the cork. Also, the lever is a bit uncomfortable and requires a lot of effort. In my opinion the Brookstone opener is better although it costs more. My Brookstone lasted a few years and that's all you can expect. Cooks Illustrated magazine recently reviewed wine openers, giving the Oggi Nautilus…
