Description of VIVOHOME Heavy Duty Freestanding Dual Storage Rack: Height Adjustable Stand for Kayaks, SUP Paddle Boards, and Canoes

HEAVY DUTY MATERIAL - The kayak support is made of full tubular metal and is treated with black powder coating to ensure long-term durability; PE-foam cushioned sleeves can be used for UV protection and scratch resistance. LARGE CAPACITY - The rack comes with 2 removable holders but can be installed with more holders; With multiple holes designed on tube, the cradle arms can be adjusted horizontally to accommodate items of different sizes. STABLE FREESTANDING - Incredibly stable even in harsh wind conditions, which owes to the dual tripod bases design; Nail holes on the base can enhance its stability, which means you never have to worry about it falling down when holding heavy objects; The carrier stand can be used even on uneven ground. EASY ASSEMBLY - The package includes a complete set of parts and no additional setup equipment is required, so you can use the rack more efficiently immediately; Also, you can combine 2 racks to greatly increase storage space and save your garage space. VERSATILE USES - The weight capacity is approximately 175 lbs. enough to organize large kayaks, paddle boards, surfboards, small boat, small canoes or stand-up paddle boards; Ideal for garages, storerooms, boat houses, even docks and decks.

Disappointed - Kayaking

We have sea kayaks from 16ft to 17ft. The weight of our boats did not exceed the recommended limits. As soon as we put the second boat on the top shelf everything started falling! So we had to put a post on the other side of the frame. If you want it to be STRONG, be prepared to bolt it to something. Our boats are precariously balanced and we have to screw on the stand to keep them from falling over. Strongly disappointed. But you get what you paid for.

Easy to assemble; works perfectly!

This shelf works as advertised. It is very easy to assemble. It comes with two real wrenches (not those cheap freebies you usually get when building products); However, I still recommend using a socket wrench. It perfectly holds two of my 10ft Pelican Bandits. The only difference is that turning the kayaks against the pictures here makes me feel that the entire rack and kayaks are much stronger. It probably depends on the kayak model which way works best. I highly recommend this stand.

When the box was opened, the screws on the grate were already unscrewed.

Unfortunately I just opened it to install and found it to be USELESS. The studs were supposed to be welded or on rods but when I opened the box and took out the parts there were a few studs in bags. Shelving shelves have already fallen off. I'm glad I didn't try to put the kayak on it, it could have fallen on a cat or something. It was too late to open up to meet up to get a refund or do anything. I had to check but I figured for such a price it wouldn't break!

Excellent frame. for the right boats!

Excellent stand, well packaged and easy to assemble. However, the heavy gauge steel and what looks like high quality welds make me feel good about the product's durability. I had to deduct a star because this rack is designed for small pleasure boats and paddle boards. I have larger fishing kayaks with deeper hulls and protruding keels. They don't work and will fall out of the cradle. It wasn't mentioned anywhere in the description. After a bit of work and paying Home Depot about $40 I got…

Very easy to set up and very stable.

Summary - Very happy with this purchase. Details below for those wanting more.* Unpacking - Materials were well packed and everything was provided including tools needed for assembly.* Assembly - Fairly easy and straightforward. The instructions were easy to follow. I did most of the assembly at home but waited until I was on site to finish the final assembly. This basically involved putting the two "ends" together. * Using a stand - it seems very sturdy. I'm not worried about it tipping over…

  • So far so good

Garbage - don't waste your time and money

"Pro": looks good in the photo, the armrests for the kayak hands seem very soft. "Cons": Everything else. First, it was late. Next screws complete crap. I attached the support arm and one of the bolts broke in half, very cheap. This wouldn't be a huge problem if it weren't for the bolt securing the welded nut in the arm and there was no way to remove the broken part. Terrible design. I was thinking of drilling just the broken part and putting a screw that went through the entire lever part…

Heavy Duty Kayak Stand

I chose between the VivoHome Stand and the 1006 RAD Sportz Deluxe Stand. There weren't any reviews for VivoHome so I wasn't sure I made the decision. I tried to look closely at the photos and couldn't tell if there was a test difference. I chose the VivoHome Rack because the VivoHome Rack had a heavier shipping weight and I was hoping it would be more powerful. I was not disappointed when the package arrived. This is a heavy duty shelf. The welds are well done, the steel is good and thick. I…
