Big Horn Easy Setting

Big Horn. Again, don't expect a $1,000 horn, but at $85 or so I'd say it sounds like a $200 horn. Very easy to install and anyone can figure it out as it comes with a diagram. However, you need to buy built-in fuses and a switch.

Good beep after replacement

Original review (July 2018): Received, hooked up to our boat and it didn't work at all. Revain easily allowed us to return it. Update (April 2019): The seller got in touch and offered to send a replacement which I have received and have since installed - which works great. So if you get a dead one, don't immediately throw it away like I did and get a spare. It turns out to be a very loud horn with a very simple 12v setup.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Discontinued model

EXCELLENT UNTIL JULY (8 months)!

The beeps were of excellent quality and very loud. My Marine son and I installed it in under an hour including plumbing and wiring. Suddenly the volume of the horns has decreased significantly in the last few days. I was very disappointed as they seemed to be exactly what I wanted but 8-9 months of use for the price seems pretty high! I would like the manufacturer/seller to offer a replacement even if it's outside of their "window".

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Generally ok but...

OH YES >>>> NOT NOW! TERRIBLE PRODUCT BIG FAILURE

pocketed them today and MAN gave them a chance and all the dogs around started howling. Looks good on my 25ft Bayliner, the horns on it were plastic, one stopped working so I replaced them with these, really nice and LOUD! TO UPDATE. A BURN is MISSING, it stinks, you pay $80 for something and the tweeter horn goes off. What is the guarantee for this? TO UPDATE. 6/26/19 HORN completely out of service - horrible product - DO NOT BUY ---

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • no gun

This product was listed as an "air horn " at the time of purchase, it is not

I did not look through the listing for this horn but upon purchase and even after receiving it I checked the listing and found it was advertised as "air horn" in several places, it mentioned 12v which is fine as most solenoids are 12v. Upon arrival, it certainly wasn't "air horn". The return was easy. Don't expect an air horn-like volume from an electric horn, that's just not possible. I replaced this horn with an actual air horn and it is much louder and better looking.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • There are nuances

Works and looks as good as it sounds!

This is the second horn I have bought from this seller. I had a 28 foot boat that I had the previous horn installed on. It's so loud and sounds amazing. For safety and swagger reasons, this is the best horn on a boat. As I transitioned to the larger 38ft boat, I knew I had to have that horn on that boat as well. I use it to signal the entrance and exit of a marina and for safety on the water. I had more than Paid compliments on the look and sound of the horn. By far the best deal and bang forโ€ฆ

Do not buy! for lighting and electrics

Do not buy from this manufacturer! I bought a double horn for my boat and it worked at first but quickly stopped. I mistakenly assumed it must be a wiring issue and waited until I had time to investigate. When I did this I found that the wiring was fine and that the horns were completely non-functional, even after I removed them and tried them on the bench they didn't work. I emailed Vixen Horns but they only replied that their warranty period is 6 months - I just passed that deadline. It'sโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Robust construction

Great set of horns. Has a sillage tone for those of you looking for the same thing as me. Installed on my Silverado, the only problem was the switches. If you're not very savvy with wiring (I am), just grab a 2-pin switch: try wiring it to your dash, etc. / A 3-5 pin switch adds a whole new dimension to neck pain. For the vendor, both horns turn on in about the first second of the explosion, then one of them goes off, and after about the first second there is only one horn left. I would reallyโ€ฆ
