Classic Patterns

I love this knitting book full of classic patterns from the past. It's like fashion knitting: very simple knitting, but the patterns are more complicated. The only thing I don't like about it is that some styles use shoulder pads that are out of style. Templates need to be modified to change this. However, most templates can be used as is. This book contains many elegant classic sweaters and other clothing items. I recommend it as an addition to any knitter's library.

Newcomers do not have to apply!

Most of the instructions in this book require you to be an "expert" or "experienced" knitter. Being a beginner/intermediate I had very few options. I was also disappointed with the lack of true portability on most of these models. Also, I like classic, tried and true designs updated to look modern and I didn't find them appealing. Each designer seemed to be trying to outdo the other, and some even overdid it. If you are an experienced knitter looking for useless sweaters to wow your friends…

I also love the gorgeous Missoni men's (or women's) double shawl collar cardigan (easy to manage even for someone of average skill) and Joan Wass' cropped hoodie. I made three of them - the yarn is easy to change (just knit something beautiful in two strands), it's easy to shape, and the result is amazing. Photo. It would be helpful to see close-ups of…
