The small rod that is supposed to act as a lever to remove the outer brace bends too easily. Worked fine for removing the inner support but I had to remove the outer support with another wrench.

The tool worked great to remove both the standard rear knife nut which is approx 31-32mm long and this special deep seat tool which also easily removes the inner knife ring nut.

Used on a 1998 Volvo Penta dp-sm. It worked great removing it. It seems like it would be easy to make a tool using a hacksaw and a pipe. If you don't want to make your own this product worked great.

"Nest on a Stick" was mostly useless. It folded slightly. To be honest the outer nut was probably tighter than usual, I haven't removed it for 3 years but it was useless. I had to buy an outlet and a crowbar. That's a 30mm socket by the way. However, the second support tool worked fine. So for the price, worth hours of a second reference book.

Not sure if the nuts were too tight on my support or the tool just wasn't high quality. I tried removing the outer nut but the metal rod just bent. To unscrew it I had to use a large socket wrench. I have the same problem with the inner mother. I have an internal bushing but had to use a large pipe wrench to loosen the internal nut, again the steel rod is just bent. Therefore, be prepared for the steel rod to bend when the nuts are tightened.
