I was also experiencing very very high vibration/rattle. It was clearly new, no returns or anything like that. I'm changing it now, I hope the next one will be better. Edit: The second is slightly better, but still very noisy. It's not fan blade noise but internal bearing noise that's making my desk vibrate. I'm going to return this one and try something else.

I live in Albuquerque. The summers here are damn hot, for months. While we have an evaporative cooler in our house (much more efficient and a lot cheaper than refrigerated air), it doesn't move the air as well as an air conditioner, which is why it's on my desk. It has three speeds, will oscillate. if you want and does not take up much space. It's pretty quiet too. I consider that a good value.

After seeing the prices of their other fans I thought this company would make a good product. When you open the fan, it looks high quality, the materials are nice and the design is very stylish. After 3 weeks of use it rattles loud enough to wake our 2 year old. S since now I have to put the fan on its side so the rattling doesn't wake it up. sounds to me like the bearings are broken already, not very happy.

I have several other fans with the Vornado badge and all others have justified themselves. It's not like this. I ordered it in July, after 2 weeks the bearings on the swivel mechanism rustled. I had to return it, but I figured it wouldn't take long to calm down. I was wrong. I tried to lubricate with oil and graphite, but to no avail, the mechanism fried before the end of August. Product arrived in a condition that might indicate previous ownership, although purchased new. The box appeared to have been taped a second time and there were several marks on the power cord next to the pins that looked like kinking or handling damage.
