Vortex Engine Oil Dipstick Tube for 2000-2006 Audi A4 & VW Passat 1.8L - Part # 06B-103-663G/B Review

Never sealed in my car. The part said it should seal itself but didn't. So when I check my oil I have to make sure I use a screwdriver to hold it in place.

Ideal for Audi A4 2003 1.8T; delivered quickly and in good quality. The old plastic became brittle and broke in many places when I replaced it. The new one seemed stronger but time will tell if it lasts another 10 years.

The Votex hose fits my 2003 Passat 1.8L perfectly. Some other notes: VW has some weird engineering choices. The dipstick is actually encased in an engine dipstick tube, which is made of plastic. It should be changed about every 3 (?) years as it becomes brittle and breaks over time. Care must be taken when replacing a very old, fragile tube as plastic parts can get into the dipstick housing and oil pan. In this case, simply change the oil.
