Rusted very quickly

Rusted very quickly. And that's why I gave it one star. I mean they are looking for a good feel gave me a good quality material and they don't really cut it, I have to replace them every year although it's not the suppliers fault, I wish they sold a better quality pen

Pros
  • Probe
Cons
  • unreliable

Not sure if it's 304 stainless steel but handy kit anyway

304 stainless steel should be an austenitic stainless steel, practically non-magnetic. The case is probably 304, but the blades are pretty magnetic. Judging by the amount of oil, it may be high carbon steel. Still good value for money, just not quite what is advertised.

Pros
  • sensors
Cons
  • I don't remember

Cheaply made but appears to be accurate

They arrived floating in light machine oil, which is good because they are machine steel (other than brass - more on that later) and they are lightweight magnetic and susceptible to corrosion . very easy. After cleaning them of oil and treating them with Birchwood Casey's Barricade* Rust Remover, I spot checked them with a few microns. All were performed with an accuracy of <0.0004 inches. However, almost all larger sizes had burrs on part of the threaded hole, as did the locking frame…

Pros
  • Test, measure and verify
Cons
  • A price that will bust a piggy bank
