The phone holder has a FERRO MAGNETIC part - GPS for the phone is useless!

Well it's well made, easy to use but useless! I use my phone for geocaching on my bike and need to be able to navigate from my phone. However, the part that holds the real phone has a ferromagnetic element on the back that not only resets my phone's GPS (like ANY PHONE) but also interferes with any location services on the phone. quite difficult to attach to phone, doesn't work with case but very secure

Tried it out on a typical commuter ride in a hybrid - mostly paved but with a few uneven patches of pavement, and a short one Construction site. I have an iPhone 8 plus and it was quite difficult to pull the straps to secure the phone. I don't know if it gets easier with use - if so I'd be concerned about safety, if not, well, I didn't want to wrestle with my phone before every ride. Also, it only fits in one phone, I have a relatively thin case and I just couldn't get the straps around it. To…

Simplicity is a virtue

I bought this mount almost 3 months ago to use my smartphone as a bike computer. I've ridden my road bike about 450 miles since then with no incidents or visible wear.
