Wagner is not as good as it was 2 years ago

Well I have been using Wagner pads for many years and they have changed in the last year or two. They happen to be making a lot of noise. And I've noticed some strange wear on my new rims. I don't know what it's from. They have been correctly installed and properly lubricated. This has happened a few times lately with different sets of pads for different cars. Always tighter than desired and sometimes randomly loud. Braking performance is great, but it's called thermoQUIET. You seem to haveโ€ฆ

Good, but.: Brake pads

The brake quality is awesome. This is the third car I've used them on and I'm still happy with the braking quality, quietness and low dust levels. The price has also gone down. In the first car, I installed her on the block and didn't completely fill the gap on the bracket she rides on. It was about 1mm shorter. So if you held the brake pedal down and shifted into gear and then put it in reverse, it would hit the pivot. I cut out a piece of sheet metal and put it in the slot and now everythingโ€ฆ

Be sure to use new or freshly machined rotors.

These are great pads if you use them on new or newly machined discs. and cause noise. I had 1 new rotor and another one that was "decent" and this one was noisy, I replaced it with a new one and the noise is gone. So if you're having trouble, make sure you're using new or lathed rotors. The stainless steel pad for the guide calipers is quite thin. Make sure your calipers are free of rust or road debris or they will not fit properly. I took a small chisel and a hammer and pounded on the edgesโ€ฆ
