🔪 Wahl 1045 Blade Kit Review

I have had Wahl clippers for over a year and use them to trim my beard and hair. The blades started pulling on my whiskers, so I replaced the blades with these and stopped pulling my whiskers. Can be a little tricky installing the blades (at least for my clippers it was the Wahl Color Pro clipper with color coded combs complete hair clipper set #79300-400) but once I got the blades on and properly aligned I did it doesn't have any problems.

I've been using Wahl weekly for 2-3 years, maybe longer. Buying a new razor is only $10-$15, but I've decided to try new blades instead. It was easy to install and sounds better when running. I had one of the cleanest, easiest shaves I can remember, which is why the blades feel so much better than the original. I just don't understand why they were so expensive compared to a new razor.

I was expecting it to be a steel blade like everything I've bought before. I was very disappointed to see that the bottom blade is plastic! Use your money to buy a complete set of steel. I haven't seen it in plastic anywhere, although the picture looks like it is. I'm not sure why they made it out of plastic in the first place. It really doesn't make any sense to me. It's not as easy to connect as what I had before. I really wanted a steel blade.

I have a Wahl Clip 'N Trim Home clipper and I need replacement blades. They are easy to find and arrived quickly. Very easy to install. I photographed the instructions on the box and the clipper instructions which I thought were more meaningful.

Big difference with these blades. The price seems high in relation to the entire clipper set, but when it comes to the price of a haircut, it's still tremendous value. I have a Wahl Color Pro Kit and I buy this set of blades every year. My wife has been cutting my hair for about 8 years and the Wahl razors are well designed. At about $10 a year, replacing this blade saved me about $20 every 3-4 weeks that I would have spent on a haircut. The blade is a bit difficult to align at first.
