I've been keeping an eye on the sizes for my dog breeds (one boxer/mastiff mix, the other mini schnauzer). The big one went well with the big dog after being adjusted. Small, however, did not suit the Schnauzer very well. He was able to get the nose piece off his face even when it was set to the minimum. As for efficiency. Neither dog liked it at first.
