It's not a muzzle and better than a Gentle Leader collar.

Used to be Halti, then Holt, now Walk'n Train. Any name is better than the Soft Leader's collar. It is much more difficult for a dog to get out of them. Walk slowly when entering. There are some good videos on YouTube on how to desensitize your dog to them. Don't expect to buy it and just wear it. It will take a few days for your dog to get used to it. Don't strain under the chin too much - the dog should be able to breathe, drink and give you lots of kisses! Read the fitting carefully and do…

Our Shiba Inu is finally behaving. Most of time.

Tycho is twice the size of a normal Shiba, currently weighs 38 pounds and is a purebred. He is a lifeguard who has relocated due to anxiety which is getting him into trouble. This halter gives us confidence that we can keep him under control no matter how scared he is or how many adorable cats he sees. Tycho knows how to drop halters when he's upset, but never mind. The halter is securely attached to his collar and when he throws one we catch him with the other and he is safely under control…

Nicely made but we had issues with the size.

This hat works. I will give We have a small mixed breed dog who pulled like crazy and being experienced with the Halti brand I decided to give this one a try. I measured our boy and got a size small. We were thrilled when it arrived but we were disappointed. While the neck size is perfect, the mouth size was the next size up. He can't quite open his mouth to yawn. As he did so, a small clip appeared. It has room to drink and breathe, so we'll keep using it until I find a better version of…

Sizing isn't always right

I've been keeping an eye on the sizes for my dog breeds (one boxer/mastiff mix, the other mini schnauzer). The big one went well with the big dog after being adjusted. Small, however, did not suit the Schnauzer very well. He was able to get the nose piece off his face even when it was set to the minimum. As for efficiency. Neither dog liked it at first. The big dog found out pretty quickly that the beak wasn't tight as long as it didn't pull. Small dog. Pooh. he is a bit stubborn. a little more

Not all dogs respond to the Holt collar

I have purchased two Holt dog collars and my dogs could be the problem. They didn't approve of Holt at all. I tried everything to make it comfortable to wear, but no snausage in the world could bribe my two dogs into a comfortable arrangement. They refused to leave and continued trying to pry their heads out of their collars. One of my dogs cried out as he tried to free himself from the collar. The neighbors found us more interesting than anything else on TV. I suspect the problem might be that

Great control but dog doesn't like it

I bought this for my two dogs. One dog even hated it after extensive training to get used to it. I finally gave in when he wore it to the beach and got conjunctivitis from rubbing his face in the sand so much. Poor guy. My other bitch has settled in better and it's been great for her while we work on making her less reactive on walks. Pros - great control over my dog's head and will withstand a lot of wear and tear. Walking became much more comfortable for me than before. It doesn't ride up or…
