fits good. This is a straight cut.

Worked, started. It's a straight bolt from the front to the exhaust manifold, but it needs to be welded on the other end. I tried using a 2" band clamp (Dynomax 33228 Hardware Clamp Band) to attach it to the back of the rest of the exhaust, but it was a bit odd. I ended up welding it which cost $70. Code P0420 is gone and we have now passed the float test.

Pros
  • Catalytic converters and spare parts
Cons
  • I won't say anything

I fixed my check engine light and allowed myself to pass the emissions.

I installed this professionally at a local shop as it requires welding. My check engine light cleared some of the codes it was giving and I was able to get past the emissions. My car is quieter and I have good gas mileage. I saved several hundred dollars by purchasing this part at the price of another store that refused to install client parts. On an 11 year old car it matters.

Goes well with 2004 Matrix

This goes perfectly with my Matrix and along with a new O2 sensor has cleared my check engine light. If you don't want to cut the pipe you will also need a tuned pipe (Walker 55349) along with the appropriate gaskets and clamp. I first tried a much cheaper part, but the free-floating flange on this item made it impossible for at least one person with the jack to attach it. I recommend spending the extra money for this better fit.

Pros
  • Catalytic Converters
Cons
  • Periodicity

Fit perfectly and took care of the engine light

Really didn't want to replace the cat on my 16 year old Corolla but replacing a car wasn't a viable option in this economy so I searched and searched and found this a good one Option. The price was cheaper than other well-known brands, but there was still a company that would endorse the product. Installation was easy and combined with the Walker's tuned pipe it was the perfect replacement with no welding or cutting required. install, the check engine light went out and it could skip emissions.

Solid stuff, works well.

This converter is a quality part. The tubing is solid, has a solid oxygen sensor connector, the bends and flanges were properly aligned, and the welds were clean. The original is a single assembly with the resonator to the muffler inlet, replacements are sold in two pieces to allow for longer shipping length. Walker sells the transducer and resonator sections separately. All I could do was replace the converter section of the original pipe, connect it to the old pipework with a Dynomax 33228…
