I'm a welder and have tried several brands of flap discs. I've heard a lot about Walter abrasives, but I use the flap disc. For this cheap price I wanted to see if they were as good as I heard. Absolutely! Damn, they last a long time. They work just as well as any of the other famous petal discs, but they wear very well.

I have used several brands of flap discs and they outperform all others. One of these offers more power than 10 packs of some brands. The Flex Steels are perfect for my 8 amp Bosch grinder. This is the first disc to keep biting into the work after heavy wear. I like the 60 grit for general weld grinding, rust removal and light chamfering.

I'm willing to beat myself up for 10 years for not trying them sooner. Trust me when I say it like I'm writing this, all other flip flops are worthless. Yes, you pay about twice as much for them as cheap stuff from places like Benchmark, but they last ten times longer or longer. More important is how well they function on top of life. These things just won't die. If they die, you just cut off a piece and it all starts over. I will never buy discounted or store bought discs again.

I played around with various grinding discs. From solid wheels to another flower disk from the Katsko brand. and it is by far the preferred abrasive removal disc. Overall, I liked this CD best. These hard drives don't interfere. I have a set of 4.5" 80 grit discs that really make beveling and steel prep a breeze. Add to that a powerful grinder that doesn't mind a hot dinner like a Metabo and you have a great tool. for work. They seem to take longer to wear out than today's cheap petal discs you can find elsewhere.
