Lock & Lock HPL931: Water Tight BPA-Free Food Storage Containers, 3-oz, Pack of 4 Review

Lock & Lock - BEST container. We have lots of these and I come back to buy more when we need food storage containers for the kitchen. They are the best of the 4 tab containers; Now I will not consider any other brand than Lock & Lock. By the way, these 4 oz containers fit perfectly INTO the 10.14 oz / 1.27 cup (300 ml) round L and L containers (see photo). I bought both. RECOMMENDED.

I was looking for a waterproof container to store my Copenhagen when I surf. These containers are small enough to fit in the side pocket of my swim trunks and are waterproof as advertised. I removed the silicone gasket from the lid to clean and am impressed with the shape and construction. Earlier reviews complained about the breakage of the locking tabs. I haven't had any problems with that. I've been using the same single container twice a week for about two months.

I bought these to make puree for my 101 year old dad and freeze it. I filled them with grated carrots. Before serving, I removed the lid and heated the frozen carrots in a 1000W microwave for 2 minutes. He melted the container. I am very disappointed as I would not have bought them if I had known they cannot be reheated in the microwave. See attached image showing permanent discoloration and a distinct bulge of melted plastic near the bottom of the container. This was after just 1 application.

I use them to pack my son's lunch before he goes to school. I've been using Lock and Locks for years and they have endured lunch after dinner and dishwasher after dishwasher. They don't last forever: I bought this set to replace a pair that had broken lugs, but then again, that's after years of use (and abuse). Since they're BPA-free, you really can't go wrong with this. I put fruit (along with juice), cucumber salad, etc. in it and they don't leak even when tossed around in a lunch box…

I have a lot of storage boxes with locks and padlocks and I really like them. I wanted some small ones and I could only find them here. They were small when I received them but the locks on four sides are not the same as other containers and most importantly they don't fold because there is a top lip on the inside. One of the great things about lock and lock containers is that they stack just like lids, so they take up a lot less space. I have to say I was very disappointed with this purchase…

Sometimes small is better. I love Lock & Lock and was delighted to find these very small holders. There are so many uses. When I've made a delicious sauce and don't have much left, it would be great to have a very small container that doesn't take up much space in the fridge. They also make great cold compresses when filled with water and frozen. They don't take up much space in your lunch or grocery bag. They don't leak, so if the ice melts, it's not a problem.
