Functionally sound, but with a surprising aspect.

Not a big reviewer, but thought I should tell people about these shoes as there is one surprising aspect. First the background - my feet get cold, so I need insulated shoes and I am not a big fan of getting my feet wet, so waterproof is also a requirement. Until now, I had been wearing Salomon Men's Eskape Mid GTX Hiking Boot (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008JFC1LE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage), but they were starting to tear after two years of daily use. And I wanted…

Pros
  • Perfect fit and extremely comfortable
Cons
  • The shoe can smell bad after prolonged use

Between Keen Slip Ons

I bought the Keen Brixen and the Keen Targhee III Slip on at revain’s try it before you buy. Although the Targhee III is easy in my ankles, the width on the toe box was too narrow for my wide feet and was just too tight overall. Perhaps, if Keen offer the Targhee III on a half size bigger it would be perfect for me. Cause the grip on this shoe is good. The Keen Brixen on the on the other hand had this grip on my ankles that did not feel right at first. But of course like any shoe, one has to…

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • The shoe can be difficult to take off

A Cool Looking Shoe Boot

I like the overall look of this shoe/boot. Good fit. Nice traction. Wide price fluctuations with a range between $95 - $154. Be patient.

Pros
  • The boot is available in a range of stylish colors and designs, ensuring you can find the perfect match for your personal style
Cons
  • The shoe may not be versatile enough for different types of activities

Comfortable in my review

Very comfortable and well built. These will last me forever as a casual use shoe. Very nice appearance. That's my review.

Pros
  • Great shoe and they last
Cons
  • The shoe can be prone to damage from sharp objects

Very good at first good for me

These were great the first year, probably wearing a dozen times bird and deer hunting, walking and standing in forest terrain. The next year, the foot support completely collapsed and actually hurt my feet rather than bare feet. I put support inserts in, but didn’t help. Kind of disappointing based on the reviews and price. I have Cabelas’s brand boots that are still going, for 1/3 price. Wouldn’t recommend.

Pros
  • Excellent winter fall slip on water proof shoe
Cons
  • The shoe can be prone to staining

Almost great good for me

These shoes replaced a pair of 15 year old Rockport CXS lightweight work shoes. Here are my quick opinions after a few weeks of wear:Pros:Keen quality is very good, however there continues to be a mild chemical smell from the rubber soles. Hopefully that will eventually dissipate. The tread pattern provides very good traction while minimizing the potential to hold dirt or small stones in the tread.Cons:You have to be a little careful with the fit. I like a larger toe box, which these have…

Pros
  • Thank you, they fit the person I was giving them to.
Cons
  • The shoe can cause blisters

Great Shoe But Needs Break In Period

Keen is a great shoe but I won't pay over $90 for it. I only buy these when they go on sale because they aren't a perfect shoe; they shouldn't be a $110 or more shoe. The first shoes I had were too loose. That was probably my fault as I wasn't sure how their sizes worked and I just guessed. The second pair I bought (byway of revain) was the next size lower and they were too tight.Okay, so why am I giving it five stars? These shoes need a break in period and will fit well after this break in…

Pros
  • Wonderful shoe fit. Love them.
Cons
  • The shoe can be uncomfortable to wear for long periods

Runs big. Order half size smaller.

Nice looking, fairly comfortable.have difficulty giving an accurate assessment when even with my thickest socks, heel is slightly slipping - so irritating. Wish I would have known. Have other Keen shoes where my 10.5 size was a perfect fit. These need to go down a half size. Thought these were supposed to be true to size. Live and learn.

Pros
  • The sturdy and durable design offers excellent traction and support, making it ideal for rugged terrain
Cons
  • The shoe may not fit true to size

Love it but insert hits my foot a little narrow

Great shoe, had to change out the insert as the stitching hits my foot wrong. Great shoe for Midwest weather when you don’t want to wear a boot

Pros
  • The slip-on design is convenient and easy to put on and take off, making it ideal for busy, on-the-go lifestyles
Cons
  • The shoe may require breaking in before it is comfortable to wear
