not suitable for under-sink water filters

My tap water has around 220 ppm. After installation, TDS checks after flushing 3 gallons. The reading is 12 ppm, which is pretty good. After just a month of use it was 50ppm. Another month later 70ppm. Now it's 84ppm. This thing should last 1 to 1.5 years. I've been using Watts Premier for over 10 years, the filter typically lasts at least 1.5 years. This is unacceptable. I'll look around for another brand.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Another fool best replacement under sink water filter

Our water is 495 td and after new filters and a new membrane I have a screaming 95 td rising to 120 td overnight and this is the second filter to do that does. Previously their filters were made in America and after replacing them they gave us 25-35 tons. This RO machine is assembled. You can't even use other types of diaphragms as they are designed to have a seal on the other end. Goodbye, goodbye, Watts. We've been using Watts for fifteen years. I will continue.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Annoying

I had no trouble replacing the original 36 gallon/day filter with a Watts 560018 50 gallon/day membrane filter. The change is long overdue! Confession: I hadn't changed the membrane filter for several years and it was obvious that it had to be replaced sooner! 🤢 Awesome! After the recommended 3-5 gallon flush, the new membrane filter worked well. It is recommended to replace the membrane filter every 2-5 years. I recommend checking the filter for physical damage at least every 2-3 filter…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not sure

Easy install, good performance

Our old membrane produced a water product (permeate) of 20ppm for over 8 years. I decided to do an exchange because of my age. Mistake. The new Watts membranes do not work. I've been trying to tweak one for weeks but it kept starting above 400ppm and never went below 70ppm. The second started at 300ppm and then started at 170ppm but never gets better than 40ppm. Oh I contacted Watts twice. No response after six weeks. This is a mistake in itself. Read other reviews; new membranes are not so…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some errors

Buying my own filters saves me tons of money!

The water softener company has tried three times to replace the membrane in my reverse osmosis system without success. Turns out they installed the wrong membrane. After a little research I found this membrane. I was also able to find an inexpensive filter kit that included all the other filters needed for my 5 stage reverse osmosis system. I was able to install the filters myself and saved nearly $200. Since this service is performed twice a year, the amount increases quite quickly. I…

Pros
  • It effectively reduces TDS and sodium as well as a variety of pollutants such as arsenic, lead, percolate, chromium, copper and radium.
Cons
  • Available in black only.

Bad Check Valve on Water Filters and Softeners

Have Bought this membrane and sent it back for replacement. The replacement was bad too. In both cases, the check valve was not working properly (this is a valve built into the diaphragm that blocks flow when the tank is full). In fact, pieces of the check valve literally fell out of the first diaphragm when I removed it to send it back to Revain. I installed the replacement diaphragm sent by Revain and it worked on the initial setup and after flushing the first 3 gallons as recommended it…

Pros
  • This 50 GPD Replacement Membrane Filter is designed for Watts Premier (WP500032), Four Stage (WP500025) and Zero Waste (WP0950045) Five Stage reverse osmosis systems, NOT quick replacement reverse osmosis systems
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Mine didn't work properly

Not sure if this is fake or the original. There were issues with the ppm reduction and it wasn't reduced. It looked like the original but I ended up replacing it with Watts.com. I had some other issues and had to replace parts so I'm not sure if this filter is the problem or not. UPDATE: Replaced with new Filmtec cone and new cone housing. These power supplies are not fake. The one from Amazon and the one produced directly by Watts have exactly the same filtering. Max = 80% error. Watts: 860…

Pros
  • This reverse osmosis membrane has a check valve built right into the membrane to work effectively when replacing this important component on a regular basis
Cons
  • I will add later
