Works as intended. Comes pre-installed with connector and fan for use as a "shield". Keep that in mind if you don't plan on making an LCD + Pi sandwich.

I'm hoping to use it with my Pi but mine doesn't have a backplate and judging by the pictures it comes with it. I really need a backplate/case for this.

I connected it to my Raspberry Pi, inserted an Astro Touch Box micro SD memory card and it works like clockwork! You don't have to mess with the settings as the software is already set up for this screen. A very happy camper.

Excellent screen. The colors are great. If you don't use it for retrotropy, this screen night will suit your needs. Retropie has screen lags and tearing related to Waveshare drivers. I tried using juj fbcp-ili9341 driver and the colors were disabled but there was no lag. I'm buying a 3.2 inch to see if the problem persists

Display stays white, both manufacturer provided methods of installing drivers don't work. The finished Raspbian image doesn't even boot. And if you install Raspbian yourself and just install the driver that comes with it, it won't work either. There is dust on the display UNDER the capacitive screen. It looks like you have dirt under your phone's screen protector. I strongly advise against buying, do not buy! Bought two of these and both don't work.

What should be a fantastic device is crippled by the fact that the display, when connected to a Raspberry Pi Zero W, can only display around 4 frames per second out of the box. . The screen is not smooth or fast. There's serious lag and the screen shakes unless you dig into the config files and lower settings. If you want to rotate the screen, your mileage will be different. When I first rotated the screen, every color was inverted, but I was able to find a few forums where people found a workaround.
