Does NOT work with Windows 10 File History or System Backup features

Windows 10 recognizes the drive, so if you want to manually move files off the main drive I think that's fine. What it does NOT support are the only reasons I bought an external hard drive: Windows 10 file history and system backup features. For some strange reason, Windows forces you to choose an external drive or a network location - backing up to an internal hard drive isn't supported. The problem is that it isn't automatically backed up to that drive either. It starts - adds a few…

2 TB Heavenly for computers and accessories

SO. SO. VERY HAPPY I finally bought this item. I was looking for this for my PS4 as the 500GB didn't shrink anymore. I had to uninstall games I played from time to time to be able to play new ones. Now I can leave it there for a while since I have space. Setting it up on the PS4 was VERY EASY as it already has formatting settings. Not only that, it was quick in the formatting process. It's such a relief to know I have so much free space now. 500GB for 2TB? I will say this is a good jump…

**MAC USERS - ATTENTION!

**FOR MAC USERS! After 2 "failed" drives were sent back, I called support to find out why none of the online methods could troubleshoot and get them to work on my Mac! Obviously the solution was insanely simple, but I've never seen this simple solution online on any of the forums I've found. The erase/format issue for Mac is only related to the view you have open in Disk Utility. Make sure you select View > Show All Devices and then delete the top-level drive. Problem solved.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Exchange Availability

The drive itself is good, though.

This drive is fine for storing your files but it has a major flaw that almost forced me to return the 2 USB cables I bought. If you transfer files without moving them, both drives will become unresponsive and lose communication. I thought both records were bad and almost declared them garbage. But I decided to try new cables before going back and I'm glad I did. Both drives are now working properly. So if you decide to buy this drive, don't rely on the cable that came with it. I advise you to…

WARNING - I didn't believe the negative reviews but make no mistake

I don't think I've ever written a 1 star review in my life but I felt like I did , I should warn others . I received this drive yesterday, reformatted it for use with my Mac, worked great for about 4 hours and then went completely black. I can no longer see it on my computer (or any other computer), although the drive still lights up like it's working. We lost some important data but the worst part was when I called support and they took no responsibility (Western Digital, not Amazon) for it…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
