Works up toโ€ฆ better results in other sports

This is your first time using it. The cheap double sided tape used to attach the grommets is useless. Get ready to buy a super sticky heavy duty 10ft tape. Otherwise, tightening or loosening the Chicago screws without damaging the skin will help.

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • Fits

Good tool after repair

I bought this tool to change the belt buckle on the gun belt I bought. When I received the tool and opened the package, the rubber seals fell off. I used old fashioned glue to reattach the pads and was able to replace the buckle on the gun strap. I would recommend this tool to anyone working with leather with the caveat that you may need to glue the rubber pads in place.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Love the tool is good for other sports

This tool is very convenient for me and works great. The only thing I have to complain about is that the rubber grips don't stick. I've used different glues to hold them in place, but they usually come loose. I even tried epoxy but to no avail. Kahn/Contact Cement held her the longest. I would buy this item again but wish they could find a way to make the rubber grips stay in place.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Quality

You must be joking

The rubber pads came off almost immediately. EVEN WITHOUT USE! They just fell off. Like someone selling such a product. Otherwise, the product works well, although the open end isn't particularly wide, which can limit its use. And the piece is unnecessarily thick, so you need good lighting to see what you're doing with the screwdriver. It feels solid so it has to hold up. IF YOU ARE REPAIRING A BRAND NEW PRODUCT YOU HAVE NOT EVEN USED!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Modern

Yes, you can use it for tightening too!

Everyone dealing with Chicago Screws needs this tool. Most importantly, and I don't know why Weaver Leather doesn't tell you this, the tool is just as good at driving screws as it is at removing screws. It's not mentioned anywhere and I don't know why! Even when I called Weaver and emailed him this request, I was told twice that it was for screw removal only! Belittle your own product! Either way, rest assured that you can both tighten and remove those stupid screws with this tool. :-)

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Zero

Good to use but rubber pads need to be reinstalled

Modified locking C-clip design. It is modified to put pressure on the nut and allow access to the bolt. The modifications are crude, but sufficient for the purpose. As other reviewers have noted, the rubber pads are attached with flimsy double sided tape and fall off on first use. Generally a screwdriver is fine for normal use as long as you hold the rubber pads firmly in place. The ring was too big and thick for my application so I had to modify it heavily before using it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Will not work for everyone

Rubber buffers fall off.

The tool has a pretty bad finish. Haven't used it yet as it comes with rubber pads that are not attached to the tool. The rubber pads have double sided tape/tape. I have degreased the surfaces of the tool that the pads will be glued to so that it is well prepared. The hard pad stuck to the instrument for several minutes and then fell off. The adhesive on the puck-shaped pad came off when I removed the lid with non-stick tape. I ended up using Scotch 3M's double-sided rubber band for outsideโ€ฆ

Pros
  • good item
Cons
  • no
