Stiff Grade Brush

Sturdy and good size. I've been using it for forging (knocking over the scales) for several months and not a single bristle has fallen out. Pretty tough.

Endangered

Excellent for removing very light rust from steel, developed for ironwork. Removing forge scale is a difficult task, but really simple things work well.

Exactly what I was looking for.

I use it to clean the leather straps that I use for kitchen and outdoor knives. This brush has the right stiffness to prepare the skin for a new application of putty.

Pros
  • Scratch Brushes are made of dense fibre/wire with a smooth edge for an even cleaning.

  • Slightly torn.

Great brush, but not for blacksmithing.

I looked for a blacksmith brush and it popped up, it was cheap so I added my own handle and got to work. It didn't help to remove the limescale. path to softness. Later, with a flick of the wrist, I pulled the coin onto a large wooden brush with metal fins (something like a chopping block) and saw the difference. This is a great little brush. I use mine when grilling. It simply has no place in blacksmithing. I hope that helps and I'll save you a bad buy.
