This is a nice addition to an old BMW '02 e39

Installation wasn't difficult, once you are familiar with the wiring it's easy. It worked great the first time I connected it without a relay, but I decided to add it later because I just thought it was necessary. And it still works great. By the way, if the rear light bulb does not work, the camera image may stutter.

Check out the others, the wiring is no good for the E90

Don't buy this if you have a BMW E90, the wire from the trunk handle is about a foot shorter to pull it all the way through the trunk Wiring harness and a huge spot in the wiring where all the wires come together, incredibly large to go through the rubber tubing where all the other wires go. I ended up buying another brand with a longer cable and smaller wiring that worked much better but stuck with this one due to closed return windows.

Works well with My E60 and MMS

The reason I chose this camera is because I don't need to drill any holes and it uses CCD technology. My non-original MMS Bremmen Android for E60 has an RCA connector for CCD. The first picture is a camera shot which is pretty good but all the pictures depend on the MMS you are using. To help other projector owners install this camera if your MMS has a dedicated CCD connector and 12VDC - the yellow audio connection with a red wire tail along with 12VDC power supply if your MMS supports it. Ifโ€ฆ

Difficult to mount cameras on E91 station wagon, but worth it

I used these to replace an old camera that I had previously bought on ebay the main reason is the rubber cover came off the old camera and moved away otherwise these cameras deliver excellent images on my existing 2008 satnav however I think there is a design flaw with all these aftermarket cameras which causes the rubber cover to fall off easily As far as I can tell both cameras are identical I have a separate one previously Bought a video converter to be able to view the backup image on myโ€ฆ

Cable is not routed, comes with relay

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and found that the camera comes with a 12V relay. This may be required depending on your setup as BMW e90 rear light is definitely not 12v powered and will cause a lot of problems when installing the rear camera. However, it didn't come with instructions on how to connect it. As everyone has said on all these aftermarket trunk release cameras: the silicone sleeve is very easy to remove from the plastic grip. I ended up attaching it to a plasticโ€ฆ
