Unfortunately, Western Digital's quality standards seem to have dropped a bit. The Scorpio Blue drive does well: fast, fairly quiet overall, and not very hot. I bought this to upgrade the hard drive in my Acer Extensa 4620 laptop. It is rated for about the same power consumption as the 120G Hitachi it replaced.
