Not ideal for mounting in ceiling fans and accessories

Good quality but needs a screw to secure rotation. Once installed, you can still rock the box along the axis it spins on. It's definitely not going to fall off or anything, it would just be nice if you could capture the twisting motion once it's in place.

Ease of Use in Ceiling Fans and Accessories

These mounting brackets made it very easy to install two fans on our porch. My ceiling was only about 1/4 inch thick so I added small spacers around the edges to prevent the box from sticking out of the ceiling. The fans hang well and are well supported. Very strong hangars. Even on my 24" center straps. I recommend to all.

Improved Fan Mount - Accessories

I've mostly used Home Depot Consumer Electric fan mounts and they're fine. These Westinghouses have some additional features that set them apart. Little touches like a magnet on the box to keep it on the bracket during installation are welcome. In any case, I will be sticking with Westinghouse for the next pair of fans I plan to install.

Works as advertised

This mount was easy to install. We removed the box lighting from the bedroom and replaced it with a ceiling fan. After removing the glass, we needed to install the brace and add the ceiling medallion. The spacer stretches easily and is designed to allow the box to be mounted flush with the ceiling, allowing us to mount the ceiling fan flush with the medallion. I have since installed the chandelier using Westinghouse braces stretched across the joists. It mounts easily and looks very secure. The

These fan suspenders are awesome!

These fan mounts are great! I bought two - I wanted to install ceiling fans in two of the bedrooms in my house where there were no ceiling mounts for anything heavier than a small light fixture. The braces saved me from climbing to the attic and struggling with blown insulation to secure the fan mount housing. You simply remove the existing fastener, thread it through the hole and expand the wrench between the two supports. The clip box can easily be adapted to any opening. Be sure to use these

Not for 24 " center

Despite the description and packaging saying 24" will fit center beams, I don't recommend it. When the bar is fully extended to 24 inches, it sags significantly. After tightening and starting to install the fan, it sagged from the ceiling. I had to abort the installation and didn't even have the fan blades installed. Only the weight of the engine pulled him down. Now I have to go to the attic and reinforce it with a 2x4 grid, which completely defeats the purpose of this bracket. If you have 24…

Solid but I wish they made them for shorter beams.

I bought two of these for two 56" fans. One for the hunter and one for the hunter's compartment. After both fans are installed and balanced, they will not wobble or move. You should make one smaller since I have 12" on the center joists, but I simply put two pieces of 4"X4"X11" between the joists and attached them to the new 4x4x11 spacers. I knew I still had to get into the attics, so I didn't buy them to avoid having to hang my fan on something more durable than just an electrical box in the…

Great unit: Accessories

We had 2 7" cans which we replaced with triple hangers. None of the screw adapters I found will fit 7" cans. They work great, but if you have a newer house with precast joists (can only be used for the downstairs ceiling - not sure) the 2x4s you put in between will be on their side, so only the bottom half of the plank actually lie touch the beam. If I were to install a ceiling fan I would have my doubts but for 1-3 pendant lights it is more than adequate. Once you pull out the glass, it's very
