Great betta filter but LITTLE MODIFICATION REQUIRED

Love this filter. Bought this for a 7 gallon cubic tank for my betta. There was a Fluval Nano, but it was too problematic and noisy. This filter is so quiet that I can't hear it over ambient noise. The river is only for the betta. For fish without a labyrinth organ this would be rather weak, especially at 7 gallons. Many reviews from dissatisfied people with dead fish or snails. This type of filter has been known to catch large, flexible fins such as those found on bettas or fancy goldfish, as…

Great for turtle tanks (I have 3 RES)

Love this filter. You may need to get creative if you don't use a hook that attaches to the top edge of the tank. Or if you do not place the filter directly on the ground because this filter will be too heavy for the suction cups, either place it on a small object so that the top of this filter is above the water level, or adjust the water level so that it stays below the top of this filter to properly use this filter. I use this filter in my turtle tank and it's amazing. I used to use a…

BUYER ATTENTION! at Aquarium Pumps & Filters

At the end of November I received another aquarium filter (Tetra Whisper Filter) because the other one was difficult to keep clean. This one did a great job of keeping my daughter's betta tank clean. However, today the fish got caught at the bottom of the Tetra Whisper filter where the fan spins. The back of his fin got stuck there and he struggled to get out. I immediately turned off the filter to stop the fan at the bottom and released it. He could no longer swim as usual, but only sideways…

The worst! Don't ignore the latest reviews

This is by far the worst product I have ever bought. I ignored recent reviews that it kills fish because we had a 1 year old large glowfish and thought it was fine. Unfortunately that was a mistake because he caught and killed my daughter's healthy glo fish. Due to the pandemic we were unable to order replacement cartridges for our old filter and had to look for a new filter altogether to keep the water clean. Turns out clean water doesn't matter when this garbage is killing the fish. I am so…

I like the filter, but not quite.

I used to have a Tetra Whisper filter for my 3 gallon aquarium, but after my betta died I decided to stop keeping fish and threw or gave away almost all of my aquarium supplies including the filter ( except tank itself). But due to the pandemic lockdown and being stuck in the study room pretty much all day, I've decided to go back to getting fish for my table. So obviously I wanted the same filter that I had in my tank before, but couldn't find it anywhere (it was exactly the same, except it…
