A good handheld hatchet for making kindling

I like the weight and balance of this hatchet. I am primarily using it for splitting kindling off of my split firewood to use in my woodstove. The handle has a good grip and it's a good size for this task. Although splitting kindling is a fairly light-duty task, this tool feels solid enough for a more taxing workout if used that way.

Pros
  • Just used few times, not as sharp as I expected (first time user)
Cons
  • Works well. Did the job. Was surprised that the blade wasn’t sharp

Good value best in my review

Good value for the money. Not as sharp as it could be but then again, it's a field axe and not a fine chisel. Not suitable for precision work, as it's designed for heavy-duty tasks!

Pros
  • Digging into a heavily rooted garden bed with reasonable efforts.I should have gotten this earlier.
Cons
  • Not suitable for precision work, as it's designed for heavy-duty tasks

Arrived chipped for my opinion

Arrived chipped at the top section of the blade, not central and needed to get some logs chopped down to size for removal so I let it slide…Didn’t quite live up to my expectation (probably needed a full size axe with torque for the logs I had to work on-I’m also inexperienced at wooden lodge chopping this way*), but it did slice into them embarrassingly so …as I had trouble working around a way to safely remove it.haha.The rubber cover doesn’t last so you need to be careful with that, slices up

Pros
  • We use the hatchet to clean our briar patch.
Cons
  • Can be challenging to maneuver for those with limited mobility

Great camping hatchet for kindling or clearing brush

owned for three weeks and so far its preformed marvelously, great balance seems well constructed and has taken apart some decent sized logs already. I am a little bit worried about it holding an edge long term but its worked like a champ so far. I would def recommend this for a pack hatchet as of right now. I will update mid summer after a few camping trips.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Will not buy any more of this WILFIKs tools

Awesome axe best in my review

Can’t wait to take my new axe in the woods. The only thing that could help the ratings would be a sheath. I have go and try to find one. Would have been easier if if came with one.

Pros
  • haven't used it yet, but this thing is heavy and i know that is will split wood for me..
Cons
  • This picture is right of the box. Edge guard is already split from the axe.

Seems to be a good Axe for the price.

Looks like this axe will get the job done this spring and summer. My only complaint and the reason I didnt give it 5 stars is due to the cheap rubber peice they give you for the blade cover. Mine already ripped and I have to find something else to keep the blade secure so my kids dont cut themselves.

Pros
  • Glad we knew how to sharpen an axe because this came dull. Nice axe, easy to handle.
Cons
  • May not be legal to carry in some areas without a proper permit or license

It's a mattock, but one handed

I like this tool, I bought it to cut out a stump and it worked exactly as expected. Seems fairly sharp and still holds an edge after chopping out the stump.

Pros
  • This is a very sharp tool so be careful opening it from it's packaging!
Cons
  • Can cause hand or foot injury with accidental drops or slips

You get what you pay for.

It's a cheap axe, I don't know what I was expecting. The axe head wasn't that sharp when I got it, but it worked for splitting small logs. It was light and pretty maneuverable and it did feel pretty good in my hand. Of course, when buying cheap tools, expect them to break. I tried to split a medium size log (about 7 inches in diameter) and the head got stuck in the log. I tried to pull the axe out and try again, but instead I pulled the handle out. Overall 2 starts since it wasn't expensive…

Pros
  • Works perfectly with a hammer to split firewood
Cons
  • Can cause back strain or injury with prolonged use

SHARP and easy to handle AX

This was a nice ax! It was lightweight, easy to handle and easily cut the roots from trees that were growing in the path of where I wanted to plant my garden. Other axes are heavy and hard to handle - this one worked well for me!

Pros
  • It did the job, doubles as a mallet in a pinch for camp tent poles.
Cons
  • No protective case included, making it prone to rust and damage

It cuts wood on my review.

I use this to make kindling and smaller pieces of fire wood for my small portable fire pit. Works perfect for that. Easy to control and light enough to move around but with enough weight to it that splits wood easily.

Pros
  • Used it camping, works very well z.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use on hard or rocky terrain

Well made ax for my opinion

Well made ax, durable DULL! I am not unable to sharpen an ax, just it came very dull. Sharpened easily. I do not like the handle, sturdy , oval and hard for my to accurately place my cuts. A more oval handle would be easier to handle. Good ax for the money, not my favorite.

Pros
  • Fast delivery, lightweight. Looks to be well built, but have not used it yet. Durability yet to be seen.
Cons
  • Not a multipurpose tool; limited to tasks involving chopping and digging

Great for my things

Alright, so I needed a small hand axe for. my hobbies. This axe in particular can with a few whacks cleave a bone. It has no problem cutting wood with that knowledge. The weight itself is great. I can literally swing this thing all day while running around and it is perfect without getting tired but it is heavy enough that it has power behind the whacks. This thing has come in major use already in my short time of ownership. If you need something strong enough and easy enough to dispatch some…

Pros
  • W-16 W-36 W-41 W-42 W-43 W-44
Cons
  • Can be challenging to transport, especially when traveling long distances

For the price it's nice. But it could be a tad bit better

I used the product for some mini trees. Nothing huge. It was very very easy to swing and use. Only issues was it broke after a really good swing. It was repairable but you will have to add some super glue. No issues after that though. But overall I would definitely recommend it

Pros
  • Works like an axe should.
Cons
  • May not be appropriate for indoor use due to its size and weight

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Nice axe, but came very chipped blade edge.

Would be nice axe, but came pretty chipped and didn't discover until later on when taking off the rubber blade guard. Two stars for making me do Dremel sharpen work on a new axe.

Pros
  • My techs love to grab this baby when it's pickaxe:30
Cons
  • Not suitable for intermittent use, as it requires frequent sharpening

UPDATED: Good Small Cutter Mattock for the Price

PRE-REVIEW NOTE: I had originally posted a one star review for this product because it was much different than what was pictured on the website at the time - photos showed the mattock head locking to the very top of the handle, and another showed a full size mattock being swung over a guys head. After I posted the review, the seller contacted me and told me the photos were wrong and that he corrected them. When I checked he had corrected most, but had left the one with the full size tool up…

Pros
  • Great for work with firewood, small limbs. Good weight so I can let the axe do the work.
Cons
  • Prone to rust if not adequately maintained or dried
