🪑 Winsome Wood Benjamin Seating, Natural: Stylish and Functional Home Furniture Review

Bought 4 chairs. They are simple, beautiful and very educational. The assembly instructions are clear and all parts are included. As advertised, I needed a Phillips screwdriver. However, the parts didn't just fit together. I expected them to just snap into place, but we ended up using a hammer (over a towel to avoid marking) to level them out so we could insert the screws. I think the chairs are well designed, but the fixings were not properly aligned at the factory.

When it arrived, one chair was missing parts for the crossbars that were never in the original packaging. I requested the missing parts and then had to wait about 10 days for them to arrive. I bought four Winsome Benjamin chairs for my daughter's kitchen. I'm an advanced carpenter so I have some knowledge of wood, chair making and wood finishing. I'm impressed with the overall quality of these chairs, especially at under $45 per chair plus tax. There are rough spots on each chair, but very fine sandpaper fixed everything. After reading the Revain reviews I ordered 4 of these chairs. We tried to assemble it ourselves, but at the last moment we realized that one of the main parts was broken. As shown in the third photo above, one of the chairs was missing the threaded metal inserts that would hold the screws. If these chairs came assembled I would give them five stars. They are attractive, well made and have a good basic design. However, there were NO ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS in the kit I received. Luckily I have some experience with mechanics and woodworking. This enabled me to find out what the different screws were used for. Not much is appreciated these days, but this is an exception. They are made in Malaysia from solid wood. They weigh 13.2 pounds. built. I like the wooden seat as opposed to the fabric upholstered versions. To get some comfort and extra height we only use seat cushions. They replace table chairs as they just aren't tall enough to get the right height. The pillows are great. We use the same type of cushions as for outdoor chairs. I bought these 2 chairs along with a matching 42" round kitchen table, all from the guys at Winsome Wood. The table hasn't arrived yet. I decided not to buy 4 chairs for a number of reasons: Firstly, I wasn't sure whether the quality of the table or chairs justified buying 4 chairs.
