So it's almost useless

I was hoping that I could calculate a small error in the reading, but since the temperature differs between this and the well-known thermometer already installed on the boiler, varies greatly, the error fluctuated in a discrepancy of 20 to 35 degrees (F). So it's almost useless.

Pros
  • The best in its niche

  • Communication with the seller

Save Your Money on Tests, Measurements and Inspections

When someone else who bought this product thought it would save you money, I should have listened. I know the water from the outdoor unit was 180 degrees, the thermometer read 100 degrees, 3 feet inside the wall. I never expected it to be dead, but it's awful. save your money

Wildly insincere! in thermometer

This thermometer is off by twenty degrees - in fact both I've bought are like that. i give them back I installed them with thermal paste and made sure they were in tight contact with the water line. The photo (probably too small to see) shows my Fluke with a TFT contact - Fluke shows 186F (correct), lousy 165F thermometer.

Strap on thermometer not accurate

I wanted to monitor the temperature on some pipes in my boiler system. They looked like easy, quick-attach means of doing this. When connected to various pipes of different diameters, the temperature never exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit while the system was 170 degrees. Desperate, I sat face up in the boiling water, just enough to touch the brass sensor. It rose to 140 degrees, not 212 degrees, the boiling point of water. I emailed the manufacturer and contacted Revain. I have to wonder ifโ€ฆ

The scale is fairly easy to read, but I wish the scale had .

The temperature is accurate, the scale is fairly easy to read, but I wish the scale had more numbers on the face. I know it's very picky. The only thing that bothered me was the spring that keeps it at the intended temperature of the whistle you are controlling. As I pulled the spring around the tube, it slipped out of the needle nose pliers and disappeared. I know I can buy a spring at a hardware store, but I just used nylon ties to hold it in place. The pipe temp never goes above 130F so that
